Practice update New way to request appointments

From today, Monday 03 November 2025, The New Surgery and Barnburgh Branch has introduced a new way of processing your request.
This new system is designed to make it fairer, easier, and safer for everyone to contact the practice. All GP and admin requests now start with a short online form.

How it works
- Complete a quick form online, it only takes a few minutes.
- A clinician will review your request and decide the most appropriate next step.
- You’ll then receive a response either by text or phone which could be advice, a prescription, an appointment, or signposting to another service.
- If you cannot access the internet, our friendly reception team can help you complete the form by phone or in person.
The benefits
- No more 8:30am phone rush, forms can be submitted at any time during our core hours (08:00–18:00).
- Requests are reviewed fairly and based on clinical need.
- More pre-bookable appointments will be available where appropriate.
